My computer...
I purchased my computer in January 1999, from CompUSA. It has an Intel celeron processor 400MHz, 17" monitor, Canon BJC-250 color printer, 48MB RAM, 4.3GB hard drive, 40X CD-ROM drive, 56K/14.4 Data/fax modem. (Do I know what all of that means? No. But I have my own ideas.) Recently my husband gave me an Iomega Zip CD external drive. Now I can free up some space on my cramped hard drive! I have MS Windows 98 and Office 2000 installed on my computer. Internet Explorer 5.5 is what I am currently using for my browser. My husband and I use Outlook Express for our email (set up with separate identities). 8/20/03 This is a long over due update. I acquired a Dell laptop in August 2002. I had been running Windows 98 on it, but upgraded a few months ago to Windows 2000. (I can't leave well enough alone.) I find that much of it is similar to 98, so I'm dealing with it. Husband got a Sony Vaio laptop (love it) a few months before I got my laptop. He is running Windows XP home edition. Both laptops are wireless using Linksys wireless router. We still have the orginal desktop which he now also uses for school. Last week I set up a home network between the desktop and my laptop. Now I'm able to access the printer and Iomega Zip CD external drive wirelessly! I didn't have as much luck with my husbands's laptop. Somehow I haven't hit on the magical way to connect a Windows 98, Windows 2000 and Windows XP.

What you can hope to find...
Some new, fun graphics on my graphics page...check them out. I also try to put in little tips that I have found to be helpful, and have helped my friends and family fix their computer woes. My latest adventure is learning HTML, and that is how I'm building this web site. So, I will be adding more information on what I'm using to build it, and tips I've found to be useful. 8/20/03 I now have a Sony Clie, which I love. I have given my Palm IIIc to my husband. Hopefully, soon I will be able to do more with my PDA page. Oh, one more thing...I started a Yahoo group for computer help (geared toward women, but men may join!). |
